Using stable user specific variables, which are generated from various computer input devices (such as the keyboard and mouse), CLAM generates a "behavior profile", which is used to authenticate the genuine user. CLAM continuously monitors the system in real-time, making sure, at all times, that the user accessing the system is indeed the authorized user of the access account. Gradual changes in user behavior patterns are learnt by the CLAM engine, thus continuously increasing the authentication accuracy of the system. The CLAM authentication engine has the ability to authenticate over LAN or WAN. The CLAM engine does not rely on expensive specialized hardware, thus making it a cost effective biometric solution for both small and large businesses. Built on the Nexrealm CLAM engine, CLAM OT authenticates the user based on keystroke dynamics obtained from the way the user types their username and password.
