Idem 2.2

Idem automates file synchronization and folder replication. It secures critical data creating backup copies from a computer location to another replication destination including networked directories. Mirroring solution for important folders from a Windows computer or server toward another. Idem checks a list of source folders and updates target folders with new or modified files or folders. Optionally runs as a Windows NT/2000 Service helping in Windows administration for automation of technical tasks. Support and preservation of Macintosh filenames and structures stored on a Windows NT/2000 server volume. For those with forbidden characters in PC, Idem can rename them according Windows naming conventions. You can use Idem to synchronize a mobile computer on a network. Easy definitions of source and target folders. Supports UNC (Universal Naming Convention) to name folders using paths as ServerShareFolder. Option to include sub-folders in mirroring. Compatible with Open File Handler (Swat Consulting Inc.) to mirror opened files on Windows NT/2000. ------ Can check and copy the files and folders security informations (ACL permissions - access-control lists on NTFS partitions) and the files and folders attributes (hidden, system, archive, etc.) during synchronization tasks. -- Supports UNC,ACL ---- It can be used to create a mirror for disaster recovery or to backup files. You can use Idem to synchronize a laptop on a network and for real-time mirroring of folders on ZIP drive, CD-RW, removable hard disk, network drives, local hard disk.
