Montage is a productivity tool that serves as a kind of shell for the Windows Shell. You assemble montages by dragging and dropping files, folders, links, and URLs to create Montage Shortcuts in a Montage Desktop window. Simply by opening a montage, you can return to a complex configuration of diverse applications running on your desktop, arranged precisely as they were left when the montage was closed. Montage helps make the most of your limited screen space, while reducing the amount of distracting clutter on the desktop. It also saves you time, by eliminating the repetitive task of launching, positioning, and resizing applications individually, and it saves time again by allowing you to close a group of applications all at once. Building on the familiar model of Windows Explorer, Montage transparently adds a layer of state-saving and restoration, also providing a flexible, visual way of organizing not just information, but how that information is viewed. Montage gives you a whole new way to roll your own integrated applications, using your favorite programs as the components.
