Recon Battle Ships is a fun, addictive solitaire battleship computer game based on the traditional paper-and-pencil logic puzzle. The object of each puzzle is to use logic to deduce the locations of each of the 10 battle ships, (the Fleet) which are hidden either vertically or horizontally in the 10-by-10 ocean grid. Individual ships are oriented either horizontally or vertically in the grid, but no two ships occupy adjacent squares (even diagonally). Once you positively identify the location of a ship piece, then you can block off the water squares surrounding it. The numbers along the side of and below the grid indicate the number of grid squares in the corresponding rows and columns that are occupied by vessel pieces. Most puzzles start off with a few ship piece locations revealed to you, shown by red dots. This provides enough information at the start of the puzzle for you to logically deduce the location of all the hidden ships. Every puzzle has a unique solution that can only be determined by reasoning alone. If you're a fan of Windows Minesweeper, you'll love Recon.
